The Lenovo IdeaPad L340 is an absolute steal! For a budget gaming laptop, you’re getting quite powerful specs. This laptop is only 4.85lbs but manages to squeeze in a 2.4GHz Intel i5 with boost up to 4.1Ghz, a GTX 1650, 16GB of DDR4 ram all in a height less than 1 inch. It’s a really good deal and we aren’t even sure how long it would last.
Depending on they type of ram, you may or may not be able to upgrade to 32GB total RAM. This laptop uses DIMM RAM which is built into the motherboard, and getting a 16GB DIMM will allow you to upgrade the one DDR4 slot to 16GB as well for a total of 32GB. If you have the 8GB DIMM version, you’ll only be able to upgrade to a total of 24GB.
A slight drawback
However is that it uses a dual audio/mic port. Great if you have a headset for your phone, but any gaming headsets with separate audio/mic lines isn’t going to work here. There are adapters out there but it’s just a mild inconvenience.
Also, if you’re still half way between converting to USB type C this is a great middle ground with 2 USB 3.0 ports and one USB-C port.
Did we mention that it has a beautiful IPS screen? Cause it does. Yes, it’s not 144Hz but it’s still a beautiful 1080p display. Nothing to praise, but also nothing to dismiss it for.
Overall this is a great budget gaming laptop that we highly recommend! It has a low price, great specs, and it’s light weight. What more could you want!
This laptop would make a great pc whether you’re just a casual gamer, or wanted something that could tackle those AAA titles with decent settings and FPS.
Walmart also has a lower priced version with 8GB of ram instead of 16GB. Not a bad idea if you’re interested in upgrading the ram at a later point. Keep in mind if it’s 8GB DIMM RAM, you’ll only be able to upgrade to 24GB instead of 32GB total RAM.
There’s also a 4GB DIMM version out there so the total upgrade might only be 20GB with a 16GB card.
